well as the near-perfect conformation to the breed standard. Breeding the
correct qualities is the first step in creating a champion,
Champion traits come from two parents that complement each other perfectly, a
strength for a weakness and vice versa. Breeding is therefore a major part in
the creation of a champion, but it is only a stepping stone to success. Once a
pup is born with the qualities of excellence.
Unfortunately, Trash is infiltrating today's Rottweiler breed. Money-minded
breeders are mating any Rottweiler that they get their hands on for the simple
purpose of producing a litter, and the breed as a whole is weakened by such
practice. Rottweilers are emerging with small, thin, poorly muscled bodies;
small, pencil-thin heads; and close-set beady eyes. These are traits that no
Rottweiler should possess.
Some misinformed or illintentioned people are breeding half-Rottweiler that
eventually they create whole-Rottweilers! Such breedings will never produce a
Rottweiler. All that they can possibly create is a big mess, as other
misingformed people buy these puppies without AKC papers thinking that the
dogs are purebreds (because that is what the breeder told them). They then
breed to other Rottweilers, thus creating even more pups that are pawned off
as purebreds without pedigree. One thing is certain: if the dog does not have
papers and the owner does not the pedigree, there is a good possibility that
the dogs are not pure and the animal should not be purchased, and especially
should not be breed as a purebred. Be careful!!! Some breeders even
temparement. and proper age range.
